Heaven4Sure Bible Bites
Bible Bites are intended for the Christian believer – one who loves the Lord Jesus Christ. We didn’t always love Him. Every true Christian has a ‘past’ – a time in our lives when we kept Christ on the outside. What was the turn-around point in our lives? It was the moment we personally placed our trust in Jesus Christ to save us from our sins and to rescue us from a dark eternity. The Christian life starts with a moment of conversion, a salvation experience. From that point forward, a genuine believer has an inner desire to please, honor and obey Christ each day of our lives. A Christian is not perfect, but we love, worship and live for One who is – Christ! We all rely on food for strength and growth. Physically, if we don’t eat every day we become weak. A Christian must have spiritual food every day or we become weak spiritually. A Christian reads their Bible to be strengthened. It is a daily MUST if we are going to grow in Christ. Bible Bites are just that – bites, small bites, published once a week on Heaven4Sure.com and shared here. We are glad you are listening, but remember, they are not full meals. Think of them as little spiritual snacks between the Table Meals with your own Bible. Make sure your daily spiritual diet consists of reading your Bible and praying each day.

So, what thoughts cross your mind when you see displays of wealth? Do you drool over some of the luxury items and lifestyles advertised - the clothes, the jewelry, the exotic cars, the dream vacations, the homes and the confident expressions of the people featured in the images?

Learn to take risks. Be brave! Move out of your comfort zone. Push the boundaries. Get out of your boat! Great slogans. We hear them often, but are they always good and for our good? Are there times when such thinking is dangerous and reckless?

It's so tempting to impulsively jump into the fray and loudly react to what we see on whatever social media platforms we frequent. However, there is growing widespread concern over the incalculable damage being experienced at every level in society attributed to platforms designed to financially thrive on public outrage, pontificating, venting, ranting and reactionary behaviour.

"How she brightened the home on Musgrave Blvd. She was the peacemaker in inter-sibling rivalries. The creative person on rainy days. The unbiased perspective when conflict arose. The winner of the Miss Congeniality Award. The loudest applause at her graduation. A loved volunteer at the Women's Shelter and the local food bank. She pushed the markers higher for those of us remaining. Her race has been won."
These are typical words for a eulogy...

Imagine a conversation taking place back in the early days of the Church – in New Testament times.
"You are overreacting. You'll be able to bounce back. This is just a temporary, passing storm. You've hit a rough spot – a bit of turbulence. It always seems worse when you're in the thick of it."

You're only fooling yourself if you insist that obedience comes naturally to you. Please never say that again. You will only embarrass yourself. Face the reality of who you are and the long family history of disobedience that runs in the blood.

Some say he was. Others say he wasn't. Some feel he was living his life out-of-touch with God, away from the Lord — a backslidden believer. Most strongly feel he didn't have the root of the matter in him. It's a tragedy that the testimony of his life is so confusing that we just don't know. Saul knows, and God knows.

For many of us, our prayer life isn't as robust or authentic as we'd like. We string the words together, but the 'connection' seems to be lacking sometimes. Here's good news: Our prayer life can change for the better. It doesn't need to be lacking or deficient, and it's within our power to turn things around.
From our Father's perspective, there's nothing that would please Him more than to be in constant contact with His children. You could never communicate with Him too often.

It sounds like a bizarre question, but it's a very real one. Tragically, people live their lives harbouring long-term resentment towards God.
We can be angry at God for failing to meet our expectations, mad at God for allowing something to happen, or disappointed with God for His failure to answer specific prayers. We can blame God for the dark memories of life or be profoundly grieved at Him for not intervening to avert an awful tragedy that has come into our lives.

Spending hours searching through old dusty archives, researching ancient church registers or stomping through graveyards may not be your thing. Tracking down your ancestors isn't a priority for you. However, those who are into genealogies occasionally uncover a notorious relative who disgraced the family name: a murderer, a shyster, a fraudulent scoundrel, a compulsive liar. Family-tree findings are not always flattering. Some have dishonoured the family name.
You can lose a lot of things in life, but when you lose your good name – you've lost everything.
