Heaven4Sure Bible Bites

Bible Bites are intended for the Christian believer – one who loves the Lord Jesus Christ. We didn’t always love Him. Every true Christian has a ‘past’ – a time in our lives when we kept Christ on the outside. What was the turn-around point in our lives? It was the moment we personally placed our trust in Jesus Christ to save us from our sins and to rescue us from a dark eternity. The Christian life starts with a moment of conversion, a salvation experience. From that point forward, a genuine believer has an inner desire to please, honor and obey Christ each day of our lives. A Christian is not perfect, but we love, worship and live for One who is – Christ! We all rely on food for strength and growth. Physically, if we don’t eat every day we become weak. A Christian must have spiritual food every day or we become weak spiritually. A Christian reads their Bible to be strengthened. It is a daily MUST if we are going to grow in Christ. Bible Bites are just that – bites, small bites, published once a week on Heaven4Sure.com and shared here. We are glad you are listening, but remember, they are not full meals. Think of them as little spiritual snacks between the Table Meals with your own Bible. Make sure your daily spiritual diet consists of reading your Bible and praying each day.

There was definitely going to be sorrow. They would be crushed with grief. Tears would flow. Their hearts would ache. The sky would be black, and the storm would be felt. While the world cheered, they would weep. But not for long. Just a little while, and then —

It sounds like kids' stuff—a fight in a pea patch. But it wasn't just a fight in the pea patch; it was a fight over the pea patch. Still, it doesn't sound like one of those 'mother of all battles' or a confrontation of epic proportions. And yet, when all was said and done, it was rated, years later, as a great victory.
We don't know how big the pea patch was, but we know it was loaded with lentils—something like peas! The harvest would provide food for the locals living in Lehi. There was a threat, however, as there always is. The Philistines were in the area, and they had a long track record of actively opposing and fighting against the people of God, threatening them and warring against them. A rather infamous giant still talked about today was a Philistine.

Could it be any darker? Where is God? The eyes strain to see the faintest hint of light but to no avail. It is black darkness. You can't tell whether your eyes are wide open or tightly closed – there's no difference. There is no night light plugged into the wall of your experience. You look towards the door, hoping to see some light shining through the cracks, but you can't. Nothing. You've opened the window blinds and peered into the darkness, but the twinkling stars aren't shining, and the moonbeams (stuff that poets write about) are nowhere to be seen. So much for poetry!

Itching ears can be exasperating.  Some persistently rub their hand over their itchy ear, hoping to find relief. Dangerously, some insert sharp objects to scrape the itchy area. For some, it is just a temporary irritation; for others, it can be a recurring condition. Sufferers long to have their ears soothed and relieved.
The Apostle Paul referred to this condition to make a spiritual application. Yes, there is such a thing as Spiritual Otitis Externa: ears that are spiritually itchy and want to hear soothing words from the pulpit —words that please them.

Surface Beauty | Bible Bite

Did you ever walk into a store and the first section you encountered was the Cosmetics Department? Often, the first clue is the overpowering, knock-you-out fragrances. Behind the counter are male and female cosmeticians wearing an exaggerated mask of makeup—sometimes in excessive quantities. The whole thrust of their sales strategy is surface beauty: rings on most fingers and toes, glittering bracelets, neck chains, ear danglers and other body modifications, puckered painted lips, thick pasty eyelashes, elaborate hairstyles, and frighteningly long, extended coloured fingernails.
Perhaps such a characterization of a Cosmetics Department has been slightly exaggerated. But you get the point. Their primary focus is external surface beauty.

Christians continue to debate where King Saul ended up in eternity —Heaven or Hell. Not everyone who has dealings with God ends up in Heaven! There are many episodes in King Saul's life worth considering, but one is a classic. No one should overlook the timeless principle underlying this story....

Have you ever wondered if you've crossed an invisible line with the Lord in your prayers? Have you worried that maybe you've gone beyond what you should ask of Him or exhausted His patience with your persistent requests?

Are you feeling inadequate today over something that looks too big for you?  Have you obeyed His voice? Is He saying to you: “Whatever you have, bring it here to Me?”  Humanly speaking, we’re no match for the need ahead of us. But if we take whatever we have to Him and place it in His Hands, He’ll use our inadequacies, frailties and our smallness to accomplish what needs to be done and He will get the glory – not us!

Positive things were happening in rapid succession and things were going great for Peter as the angel led him out of prison – until those impregnable iron gates loomed ahead of them.
Impossible! Impossible! Really?
Remote control doors existed long before the patented invention of 1931. The Lord pressed the remote control button in Heaven, and without even a momentary transmission lag, those impossible gates swung open as if they had just been lubed a day earlier.

Is the Lord’s Supper important? Where you go on Sunday – is the Lord’s Supper a significant, well attended and deeply cherished activity of the local church? Or is it sort of optional, hit-or-miss, once-in-a-while, an occasional or annual or quarterly type of thing? What about you personally – where does the Lord’s Supper rank in your list of priorities and spiritual commitments?
